- Why is it worth flavoring casinos?
As a casino owner, you want your guests to be energized and motivated to play and spend. So engage their senses. Enhance their emotions. Take the player experience to the next level with scent.
Gaming houses love floral-fruity scents, something between grapefruit and coconut, and guava and hibiscus. For them, it's the scent of success. Why?
The smell in the casino means more money in the till
Scenting the environment has become an integral part of casino marketing strategies. Gaming houses use scents in the context of a multisensory experience—combining them with the images of neon signs, the sounds of slot machines, the taste of refined drinks, and the touch of chips. All of this aims to create an overwhelming sense of joy in the guest and encourage them to spend more and more money without even thinking about it.
The more comfortable you are, the longer you play.
Most scents used in casinos are those that entice guests to stay longer. They are subtle, widely considered pleasant and non-aggressive. The underlying premise of gambling establishments is simple: the more comfortable a customer feels, the longer they stay and the more likely they are to bet. Research confirms this. One of Dr. Alan Hirsch's studies specifically addresses the use of scent marketing in casinos. During one weekend, a floral scent was diffused at a Las Vegas casino. Players spent 45% more money that weekend than during other weekends. The results for areas unaffected by the scent remained unchanged.
