- Givaudan celebrates ten years of ethical practices
The ceremony took place in Paris from January 18-22, 2016. It commemorated 10 years of Givaudan's sustainable sourcing of natural ingredients.
Givaudan, a world leader in fragrance development, pioneered the concept of natural and ethical fragrance sourcing in 2006. It began by partnering with local producers. Today, the company also relies on its own supply chain.
Givaudan Standards
Givaudan employs dedicated employees in the countries where its ingredients originate, building a chain from growers to consumers. The company cultivates best practices in sourcing and prides itself on long-term partnerships between the company, producers, and local communities.
The company researches raw materials at source, combining them with ingredients obtained using the latest techniques. Drawing on natural sciences, it has created Akigalawood – a new natural product derived from patchouli and roasted tonka bean.
Fragrance inspirations
The company focuses on innovation, sourcing new scents in unconventional ways. Its inspirations include natural ingredients such as tonka bean from Venezuela, ylang-ylang from Mohéli, vetiver from Haiti, patchouli from Indonesia, and rockrose from Spain.
Givaudan offers its customers over 200 top-quality natural ingredients, including sandalwood, balsam resin, vetiver, lavender, vanilla, and more.
"
We are proud to have reached a milestone in our journey towards ecologically sustainable natural ingredients. We demand that we safeguard the most fragile natural supply chains. We support local communities. Givaudan's strategy is responsible development and shared success for customers, communities, and the company, " explains Gilles Andrier, CEO of Givaudan.
