- Tasty fruity scents – what attracts us to them?
Fruit-based perfumes are the quintessence of juicy scents. They allow us to experience summer year-round. Fruity notes in perfumes are universal – they appeal to all ages, women and men. Hence their growing popularity among perfumers.
Fruity notes can be used to create a wide variety of perfume styles. From light and refreshing citrus scents to heavier and juicier fig notes, the entire range of fruity fragrances can be complemented with floral, woody, and oriental accents.
Fruity scents, typically sweeter and fresher, often form the top notes of perfumes. They typically create the first impression—they're the scents you smell first when you sniff a perfume. This is an important selling point. Fruity top notes are described as bright and energetic. Combining them with heart and base notes creates a complex and intensified perfume scent.
J'Adore and Yvresse
Most perfumes on the market feature at least one fruity note. Lemon, orange, bergamot, grapefruit, and berries are prominent. Classic fruit-based fragrances include J'Adore (1999) by Christian Dior and Yvresse (1993) by Yses Saint Laurent. Both fragrances utilize a combination of peach and floral notes. These feminine, elegant fragrances remain popular to this day.
DKNY Be Delicious
A fresher and more pungent scent is represented by DKNY Be Delicious from 2004. It is available in both women's and men's versions. This bright fragrance is an essence of green apples and grapefruit, with amber and a hint of sandalwood. The women's version has a floral heart of lily of the valley, rose, and violet. The men's version, on the other hand, contains patchouli and juniper berries.
Perfumes of the stars
Even pop stars have their own fruity fragrances. Taylor by Taylor Swift was released in June 2013. This sweet floral-fruity scent combines apricot, mandarin, and lychee with floral notes.
