This oil has a sweet, floral scent. It's extracted from a plant native to South Asia. There's evidence that the aroma of ylang-ylang has a relaxing effect and lowers blood pressure. One study found that the scent of ylang-ylang calms the nervous system, leading to lower heart rate and blood pressure.
Bergamot is a hybrid of orange, lemon, and lime. Traditionally used in Italian folk medicine, numerous contemporary studies support its ability to relieve tension and anxiety. Five of six clinical studies conducted between 2009 and 2013 showed that aromatherapy with bergamot essential oil normalized heart rate, reduced blood pressure, and reduced stress levels.
Cinnamon oil improves focus. Cinnamon stimulates the area of the brain that regulates alertness. Studies have shown that drivers were more focused and less nervous when they inhaled the scent of cinnamon before driving.
